Purchasing Department

Daily Schedule

Current task

My primary responsibility is procuring parts for our overseas sites. Because certain items are available only in Japan or can be sourced more cost-effectively here, I arrange shipments approximately 5 to 10 times per month. Depending on the weight and quantity, I select the most optimal and efficient method of transport, utilizing both air and sea freight. Shipments are first consolidated at the office, carefully packaged to prevent damage in transit, and then dispatched. Through these efforts, I support our overseas locations by ensuring that goods are delivered safely and reliably.

Job satisfaction

I feel a strong sense of fulfillment when I receive a request for support from a local office representative and am able to successfully resolve the issue. Recently, a senior colleague stationed in Indonesia reached out to me, saying, “The tools we are using break easily, so we would like to purchase Japanese-made ones.” I contacted several trading companies and selected one that could provide a short delivery lead time. Although delivery would normally take around three months, we managed to deliver the tools to the site in just two weeks. Later, when he informed me that “the local workers are delighted to be using them,” I was overjoyed and felt deeply that my work was truly worthwhile.

Off-time

After work and on my days off, I enjoy playing sports. I play volleyball on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and softball on Sundays. I have been playing softball since high school and currently belong to a team in Ashikaga, where I also participate in tournaments. I started playing volleyball in the summer of 2024 after being invited by a colleague, and it has now become a regular part of my life. After practice, I often go to hot springs with my colleagues or gather at someone’s house for overnight get-togethers, having fun even if it means sacrificing a little sleep.
